Meet the III Symposium on Trace Analysis and Chemical Processes Venue:

CEPETRO

The Center for Petroleum Studies (CEPETRO) is affiliated to the Chemistry Department of the Center for Natural and Exact Sciences (CCNE) from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). CEPETRO is coordinated by Prof. Erico M. M. Flores and was inaugurated in 2012. The creation of CEPETRO enabled research projects that boosted research and development activities in the field, solidifying the university's partnership with Petrobras. The activities performed in the CEPETRO are carried out in collaboration with the Laboratory of Industrial and Environmental Chemical Analysis (LAQIA) and the Laboratory for Research in Effluent and Waste Treatment (LATER), focusing on the development of advanced analytical methods for the characterization and processing of crude oil and its byproducts, renewable fuels, environmental samples, pharmaceuticals, nanomaterials and others.
